Featuring Lulu, the renowned warrior, we will be making the darkest of browns in dye. The dye will be made out of a wild walnut tree or black walnut. This large nut can be a wide range of tones ranging from ripe green to brown. They are ripe from late August to early November depending on your region. Do not be disturbed it they are slightly rotten; it only improves the dye. After you collect the nuts, you soak them in a pot for 1-2 days, then you should cook it at less than a simmer for 1-2 hours. And before you dye some cloth (It must be natural cloth: linen, cotton or wool), or string make sure to soak it in warm water then boil it in the pot, dry it and wash.
